NEWS & EVENTS

Elementary Track, Field and Fun Day

Elementary Students have been practicing and preparing for the annual Track, Field and Fun day.  Students are choosing which events they want to compete in on the day of the event. Students choose one running event, one field event and one "fun" event.  The day itself will be divided by grade levels.  The higher grades, 3-5 will have their event in the morning; whereas, the younger elementary students, grades K-2 will have their event in the afternoon after their lunches.  Parents, family and friends are welcomed to attend and cheer on these little cardinals.  Students will be reminded too that they need to plan for the weather and also wear shoes comfortable to move in.  Sunscreen should be applied at home.  Any other questions or comments you can contact your child's PE teacher.

JUMP ROPE 4 HEART

Elementary students are already underway collecting donations for our Jump Rope for Heart Event!  All events will take place in your child's PE class on February 10th and 11th.  The collection envelopes will be due on Friday, Feb. 13th.  Kids are reminded daily why we are collecting donations - all procedes go to the American Heart Association to fund the fight against Heart Disease.  Students are also learning how to keep their own heart healthy through eating healthy, exercising (jump roping!) and avoiding cigarettes and smoking.

"Roar" Bleacher Dance

Elementary students practiced a bleacher dance to the song "Roar" by Katy Perry in our PE classes.  We were able to perform the dance at our school's first PBIS assembly of the year.  The kids did GREAT!

Classes Underway!

I am happy to report we are really getting into great routines in all levels of PE at Necedah Schools. Middle School and High School students are reminded that during the fall season they should have clothes ready to have PE outside if the temp is around 40 degrees or above.

Elementary classes are reminded to have shoes appropriate for PE each day they have class.  The school does have shoes that students can borrow in case somebody forgets, but as we tell students, these are meant to be "sometimes" shoes, not "all the time" shoes, as it does take time to get the shoes on, and we do not want the same students missing the beginning of PE class all the time.
