NECEDAH SCHOOLS PE DEPT:

Carol Kubicek (K-12 PE, HS Health)

Liz Baughman (K-12 PE, MS Health, APE)

Carol teaches a variety of ages in our Physical Education department.  She loves the energy and desire to learn in the elementary students and the mental strategy and intense activity of the secondary.  She also teaches Junior Health.  Here the fun lies in the problem-solving strategies the students will need for a successful future.

Liz is in her 13th year teaching PE at Necedah.  She also teaches all levels of PE as well as 8th grade Health and Adapted Physical Education in the district.

Tyler Lee (K-12 PE)

Tyler is starting his 9th year teaching PE (all in Necedah!).  He too has a wide range of ages he works with throughout the day; Tyler teaches 6-8th grade PE, HS Fit4Life class, and also elementary PE. He coaches both volleyball and baseball in the district as well. You can follow Mr. Lee on twitter: @LeePhyEd

Our Philosophy

We take pride in preparing Necedah's youth for a lifetime of physical activity! We want all of our kids in our PE classes to move, be safe and HAVE FUN! We are also able to use our classrooms to teach problem solving, critical thinking and strategy in addition to the sports skills and game knowledge.

Quick PE History

Physical education showed up in schools in the 1820s with a major focus on gymnastics. In 1866 California became the first state to require students to have PE (at least 2 days a week).  In the late 90s there were extensive research studies showing important relationships between physical activity and brain development/cognitive performance.
